Mayor Stew Willis reported that the Tbwn is exercising its $1 million purchase option on Avon Hall and is working on the closing with the Rappahannock National Bank (RNB). Though he did not provide further detail at the August meeting of the Washington Tbwn Council, he had presented financing options at the Council’s June meeting that included a loan offer from the Rappahannock National Bank at a rate of 4.15 percent and another from the Carrigan Estate trustees at a rate of 7 percent.
