Alexandra Bogdanovic Rappahannock News Staff Writer A Warrenton-area man presumed to be missing in the Shenandoah National Park turned up at a relative’s house on Friday, according to a park spokeswoman. In a statement issued on Friday, Karen Beck-Herzog said that Leo Joseph Leger Jr., 35, was located at a relative’s home near Madison, W.Va. “Leger entered the park at U.S. Highway 211 on Monday night (Jan. 1) and hiked south for two days,” Beck-Herzog said. “He exited the park at Route 33 and hiked into nearby Elkton. Through a combination of walking and hitchhiking, Leger made his way to Madison, 20 miles south of Charleston, W.Va.” Leger’s relative called authorities who were searching for Leger when he showed up at her house, BeckHerzog explained. He seemed to be in good physical condition when he arrived, the spokeswoman added.
