It’s hard to beat The Theatre experience that Wendy Weinberg has brought to the Tbwn of Washington, Rappahannock County and regions beyond. This year is no exception.
If you’ve grown accustomed to The Theatre and look forward to returning favorites or experiencing new performers, then you won’t be disappointed.
If you’re new to this area or discovering The Theatre for the first time, then prepare to be dazzled by the caliber of musical talent partnered with the intimacy of the setting.
The Theatre at Washington, Virginia has released its new schedule of performances for the upcoming season which runs from this month to June 2007. There is an eclectic mix of jazz, chamber music, a sax quartet, a piano recital, and a fiddle-banjo duo playing music of Appalachia. There will be an evening with the inimitable and irrepressible Ben Jones presenting “Cooter’s Excellent Adventure.”
The professionals who bring these five performances to “Little” Washington include jazz guitarists Frank Vignola and Bucky Pizzarelli, each with an all star lineup of other jazz musicians; Grammy Award winning pianist Lambert Orkis and cellist David Hardy of the Kennedy Center Chamber Players; Kenneth Slowik and other members of the Smithsonian Chamber Players; the beautifrd Japanese pianist Naoko Takao.
In addition, three community programs will be held at the Theatre this spring. Films are presented twice monthly by the Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community. Visit raac.org to view the film schedule.
