Panther boys
win first district
game since 2004

The Rappahannock County boys varsity basketball team returned from its holiday break rested and ready to play, picking up its first Bull Run District win since 2004.
The Panthers scored the 53-49 victory Jan. 3 at Madison County in their first district game of the season.
Two days later, Rappahannock hosted defending Group A state champion Clarke County and lost 62-48.
The Panthers’ record is 2-9 overall and 1-1 in the district, not including the results of Wednesday’s game against Strasburg, which ended after press time.
Rappahannock’s next game is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at George Mason High School in Falls Church. The Panthers will travel to Sterling on Monday to face Calvery Temple School. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The boys’ next home game is Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. versus Manassas Park.
