Jan. 14: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther

King, Jr. Birthday celebration

The 16th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday celebration will be held Sunday, January 14, at 4 p.m., at the Theatre at Little Washington. The guest speaker is Lt. Col. Howard Baugh, a WWII veteran, most notably a member of the famed “Tuskegee Airmen”. Lt. Col. Baugh now resides in Petersburg, VA. Musical guests returning this year are Rev. Lemuel Montgomery and the Martin Luther King Choir of Fauquier County and vicinity.

The community is invited.

Jan. 15: Meet Robert E. Lee

Al Stone is the actor who portrays the great Confederate general; Evergreen Shade is the group providing the music; Sharon and Sam Elswick are the hosts at Holladay House in Orange, Va., for this celebration of the 200th anniversary of Lee’s birth. Jan. 15: RLEP Board

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection Board of Directors meets at the library, with social time at 6:30 p.m. and business meeting at 7 p.m. Updates on the draft county sludge ordinance, proposed electrical power transmission line through Fauquier County and plans for our 2007 Alternative Energy Expo and Biodiversity Task Force programs will be heard.
