The one-day festival will run from noon until 10 p.m. in May, and will feature musical acts and exhibits as well as vendors selling food, clothing and arts and crafts. The event will culminate with a so-called “national headliner act.”
A representative of county schools superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell said in a written statement that parking will not be permitted on school property due to potential sanitation and liability concerns. But school officials will not oppose the event as long as it is held when school is not in session, the statement said.
The application was originally scheduled for the commission’s December meeting, but Finley executives requested that the issue be tabled until January.
