Sperryville’s Cliff Miller is gambling that The Schoolhouse will someday be a place where community events, lectures, art shows,dances, meetings and other large gatherings can take place. For all of you who attended or heard about “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” you’d be hard pressed not to agree. Perhaps The Rappahannock Repertory Theatre can make something happen. Or other art and musical groups can chip in. What about the much needed community center for the county? The kids would surely relish a place to meet, have some fun and not be in danger of getting into trouble. Sperryville is seeing some new life of late with the addition of several new eating establishments, new signage about to happen and a couple of new shops. If the Old Sperryville Bookstore falls into the right hands, there might be another viable spark plug adding to that area’s energy. Hopefully, the Schoolhouse will emerge as well as a center for lots of neat things to happen. As Cliff dreams it will.
