In making his assessment, Mr. Miller said he took into account the topography of the land, the height of T the proposed landfill in- relationship to'tfie surrounding land, the accessibility of the property and the improvements which would be necessary,-and the effects a landfill would have on the surrounding properties and their values.
He added that the environmental impact of the proposed landfill on the area is “an issue which I have not seen discussed.” While on the site, Mr. Miller said he performed litmus paper tests on several streams to determine their acid levels. The result, a pH of five, would, according to Mr. Miller, indicate slightly acidic levels in the streams.
“I don’t know exactly what that means in terms of a landfill but it would seem it might be difficult to build.”
