60-mile ride
tops Bike-A-Thon
British exchange student Richard Perriman led a field of 18 riders in a Bike-A-Thon for St. Jude Children’s Hospital last Saturday.
Perriman rode the Fodderstack 10 times and tallied 60 miles. Nathan Tanner, a Rappahannock High School junior, stayed with Perriman the first three laps and finished by logging 48 miles.
More than $500 will be raised by the event.
Other riders were Eric Foreman, 36 miles; Nathan Burke, Pat Coffey, Jack Pullen and Todd Williams, 24; Robb Debergh, Jimmy Darner, Joey Eldred, Jonathan Heddleston, Adam Kerr, Andrew Kerr, Holly Moffett, Jonathan Moore, Robb Reeve, Tony Swift and Debbie Wood each completed 12 miles.
Riders will collect pledges the remainder of this week. St. Jude Children’s Hospital is the largest research facility in the world dedicated to eradicating childhood diseases.
