ASCS reports
due by June 1
The Rappahannock County office of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service reminds farmers that the last day to report wheat, barley or oats planted on the farm is June 1.
Land set aside for acreage conservation reserve (ACR) must also be designated by June 1 if the farmer plans to participate in that program for 1987.
Farmers who have a base for those crops but who have none planted must file a “Zero” report. Acreage reports are being taken on a field-by-field basis for the entire farm.
Corn, sorghum and soybeans should also be reported to the ASCS office as soon as planting is complete.
Remember, ASCS agent Linda Henry stressed, “stop by the ASCS office on Gay Street in Washington and report your small grains no later than June 1.”
