The Rappahannock County Garden Club was also honored at the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs State Convention, held earlier this month at The Homestead in Hot Springs.
The club was recognized with the following awards:

• Bird Appreciation Award (also the South Atlantic Region Award for Bird Appreciation)
• Bluebird House Award
• Horticulture Award
• Nature Camp Award
• South Atlantic Region Unified Project for 1885-87 on Wildflowers; Shenandoah District: Mrs. George A. Sharp
A spokesman for the Garden Club expressed pleasure with the awards and said that the club plans to continue its efforts in the coming year.
