bicycle tour
For a unique yet inexpensive bicycling adventure to remember, join adult men and women (18 and over) who have a desire to spend three days traveling through some of the most beautiful historic countryside south of the Mason Dixon line, for the American Lung Association of Northern Virginia’s Thomas Jefferson Heart of Virginia Bike Tour.
To be held the weekend of May 29, 30 and 31, the trek - which is open to inexperienced as well as accomplished riders - will begin in Alexandria on a train bound for Charlottesville. Highlights of the tour will include visits of Monticello, Rapidan River Winery, and the picturesque town of Madison with overnight stays on the University of Virginia campus and Graves Mountain Lodge.
Bicyclists ride at their own pace; train ride fares, meals, lodging and a sag wagon to carry gear are all included in the $25 tax deductible registration fee plus the $250 minimum each participant must raise to be eligible for the trip. Proceeds will be used to fund local programs in support of lung health.
