Conservation
workshop
May 30
A conservation leadership workshop, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Foundation, will be held on Saturday, May 30 at the Bluemont School House, Bluemont, in western Loudoun County. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
The workshop is designed to help the individual with new techniques for improving confidence as leaders and organization members. By the end of the workshop, said a spokesman, participants will know more about the process of leadership and themselves. In addition, they will explore methods for communication, management, motivating volunteers, fundraising and other activities.
It will be led by Ed Clark, a key figure in the conservation movement in Virginia. He is president and cofounder of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, and the first professional conservationist appointed to the Virginia Council on the Environment.
The cost of the workshop will be $10 for Blue Ridge Foundation members, $15 for non-members. Lunch is included. Since the class size is limited, pre-registration is required.
