Forestry Dept,

offers seedlings

The Department of Forestry is now accepting orders for tree seedlings. Although planting season does not begin until next February, now is the time to order seedlings to insure the species you want will be available.

This year there are 13 species of trees and wildlife food shrubs for sale, which can be planted for a wide variety of purposes, such as timber production, erosion control, Christmas trees, sight and sound barriers, and improvement of wildlife habitat.

Prices are kept reasonable since the Department of Forestry sells the seedlings at their cost of production. Prices range from $26 per 1000 loblolly pine seedlings to $75 per 1000 Norway spruce seedlings. The minimum order for most species is 50
