In response to questions from Supervisor Charles Estes, Mr. Kreyling said that he and his wife have a year-old child and are expecting another and that he assumed both will be attending Rappahannock’s public schools. Asked how long he’s been a resident of Rappahannock, Mr. Kreyling replied 13 years, adding that he is a landowner and has recently built a residence in Tiger Valley.
“I know Peter and I hold him in high regard,” said Hampton District Supervisor Newbill Miller. “But right now, I’m leaning toward reappointing Bryant Lee. I knew he had the potential to be a good School Board member when I appointed him the first time.”
“I’ve had good feedback on him,” interjected Supervisor Nelson Lane.
“You’d be surprised at the positive reaction I’ve had (to Mr. Lee’s appointment) from people who had been in favor of other nominees,” Mr. Miller said.
The board will meet again next Monday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. to fill the vacancy in Hampton District. Traditionally, the supervisor in whose district the vacancy occurs makes the nomination and the choice is honored by the other board members with a unanimous vote for appointment.
