Dr. Joseph White, Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Clarke County, and the principal of Clarke County High School spent a day at Wakefield School last week trying to learn how the private school prepares its students for the Scholastic Aptitude Test. The SAT is one of the nrugor standardized tests admistered to high school students nationwide, and is required by most colleges as part of the admissions procedure.
According to Wakefield’s Headmaster, Dr. William Lynn Jr., the school’s students currently average 670 on the verbal part of the SAT, and score an average of 570 on the math section. The national and state averages for the test are approximately 430 for verbal and 450 for mathematics.
