The Board of Supervisors has publicly praised Rappahannock’s new superintendent of schools for bringing candor and honesty back to the dealings between local government officials and local school administrators. We, too, find much to compliment after Dr. David Gangel’s first few months on the job.

Rappahannock’s grapevine is buzzing with stories that give teachers and parents alike reason to have renewed confidence in the administration of our public schools. That in itself is cause for celebration. But the grapevine, although proven an effective and accurate communications system, is still only hearsay, so we’ll direct the applause to what’s on the record.
