To the editor:
I am an active genealogist, an elementary school teacher of 16 years and an adult adopted woman who has recently completed a three-year search for my natural parents. My success includes discovering my Southern heritage, of which I am extremely proud, on my father’s side. My paternal ancestor, John Legge, settled in Fairfax County in 1630, and had come from England. Someday I plan to visit Virginia to learn more about the state’s rich history as well as to do more research on my own ancestry.
