Soldiers’ names sought
County residents with relatives serving in the Persian Gulf or who have been called to active or reserve duty as part of Operation Desert Shield are asked to provide the names, APO addresses and birthdates of those servicemen and women. The information should be sent to the Rappahannock News, P.O. Box 59, ♦ Washington, Va. 22747, Attn: Service list. The newspaper will publish a list of the names so that other county residents who wish to correspond with their neighbors can do so. Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr. will send his district representative, Jane Clatterbuck, to Rappahannock County on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the county courthouse in Washington from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to meet with residents. She will be available to speak with constituents who have problems of a Federal nature, such as IRS, veterans affairs or Social Security, or who have opinions or concerns about matters pending before the U.S. Congress. Hunter safety class
A hunter safety course will be held at » the Washington fire hall on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. Sponsored by the Virginia Game Commission, this course is required for all first-time hunters and all hunters under the age of 16.
