Bonsai workshop

Robert Watts will teach how to create a beautiful bonsai from nursery stock at this workshop sponsored by Middle St. Gallery on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will learn the care of miniature trees, which will provide beauty and satisfaction for many years. Discussion will cover how to choose stock, pruning the plants, growing moss, how the feed the tree, where to buy tools and Bonsai pots and where to locate natural Bonsai. Participants should bring their own nursery stock, a one gallon container and a suitable pot for planting. Tools will be provided. The cost is $15 for Gallery members, $20 for non-members.

Film feature is 'Dick Tracy'

Producer, director and star Warren Beatty assembled a huge cast of big stars, including Al Pacino and Madonna, to painstakingly recreate the feel of the classic comic strip "Dick Tracy" in this feature film. The cast includes the original strip's menagerie of weird-faced criminals, including Little Face, Pruneface and Lips Manlis. Madonna does what she does best, playing a vampy nightclub singer, Breathless Mahoney. The film plays Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10 and 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The movie is rated PG. Curriculum committee meets

The elementary school's ParentTeacher Organization's curriculum committee (Parents as Partners in Learning) will meet on Monday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the RCES library. The committee will discuss how to encourage cooperation through positive reinforcement at home and at school, and will see a video.

Senior citizen dinner

Hope Hill Baptist Church in Castleton will host a Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. All senior citizens are invited. Please call the Rev. Milton Switzer (937-5163) for information or transportation.
