Washington Irving’s beloved story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” will be presented by the Wayside Theatre on Tour at the Gay Street Theatre in Washington, VA, on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m.

The story tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a mild mannered school teacher who hopes to capture the heart of fair Katrina. His rival for her affections, Brom Bones, is a boastful man who intimadates Ichabod.

Through Brom and Katrina, Ichabod learns of the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” - a headless horseman who frightens those who dare to go through the woods alone at night. Ichabod tries to get through the woods on his own, but he is met, head on, by the headless horseman
