lhe tno occasionally adds Mr. Head s wife Denise, who is a dancer with the Full Circle Dance Company. The fifth member of the group is Sharon Wyrrick of Woodville, choreographer for the dance company, and the sixth, Ted Pugh, is an actor who normally performs in New York.
The only piece currently being performed that uses all six members of Ki Theater is “Conference of the Birds”, based on a 12th Century Persian poem. It tells the story of the decision of the birds, after many excuses for not acting are offered and dismissed, to set out on a journey in search of a new king.
Ms Portman envisions this as a two or three-part performance, and only the first part is ready for presentation. Developing a second part is part of this year’s schedule. Besides the six performing members of the group, a production also relies on four technicians.
