The Shenandoah Valley Writers’ Guild announces its third annual workshop on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown. The speakers will include Marcia Langhenry of The Winchester Star, who will give advice on writing submissions to one of her newspaper’s most popular features, the “Slice of Life” column.
Georgia Caldwell of Virginia Country magazine will discuss magazine manuscript preparation and query letters. Felicia Cogan of the Lord Fairfax Community College English faculty. Her subject will be “How to Say the Same Thing in Different Ways,” an explanation of sentence types and how to punctuate them.
Coffee will be available during registration at 9:30 a.m., and presentations will take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. A fee of $10 may be paid at the door.
