Family transfer

restrictions

are relaxed

By SHARON KILPATRICK

Rappahannock News Staff Writer

In adopting amendments to the county’s zoning ordinance Monday the Board of Supervisors reduced the restrictions on family subdivisions.

The amendments as originally presented, and as they were recommended by the Planning Commission, would have required that a parcel of land be owned for five years before it would qualify for family subdivision.

The supervisors reduced that to two years.

The original amendments would also have required that a family member receiving a lot as a result of a family subdivision not sell it for two years. That amendment was eliminated altogether.
