Fraley has been strongly influenced by cellist John Frazer at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music; Leonard Rose and Fellix Salmond at the Juillard School of Music; and Maurice Eisenberg at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge.
Frequent comment is made upon the beautiful instrument she plays, which is a Nicolaus Amati cello, built in Cremona, Italy, in 1675.
Mary Fraley will be appearing in concert at the Gay Street Theatre in Washington on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. Together with an accompanist, Ms. Fraley will present an evening of classical music including pieces by Schumann, Debussy, Tartini, Rachmaninoff, von Weber, Chopin and Popper.
