The FBI found little stock in the tale, saying in a statement released Nov. 2, “After a thorough review and evaluation of the information and allegations provided by inmate Edward See, to date the FBI and the Department of Justice have determined that the matter does not warrant further inquiry.”
Despite failing two consecutive lie-detector tests this month, See continued to defended his story in a telephone interview with the Fauquier Times-Democrat Thursday evening, Nov. 1, and implied that authorities have something to hide.
“What it boils down to is certain people know what’s going to happen. Certain people don’t want it to happen,” See said.
See is serving two consecutive life sentences for the murders of two Las Vegas women in 1979 and an additional 15-year sentence for an attempted escape in which he took hostages.
