mend denial passed unanimously.

The planners recommended approval for a three lot subdivision near Huntly. Arnold Zinnecker of White Pines Partnership said he and his» partners would donate land for widening the road and for a turn around at its end.

Mr. McCarthy said the only reason the application was before the planners was because the property is part of the former Dawson property which has already been divided several times.

All three lots are 25 acres or more. Although other sections of the road have 50-foot right-of-ways, there are parts near Huntly where the road is less that 12 feet wide. He said the condition of the road was the only problem with the subdivision.

“Unless we change our zoning ordinance, I don’t see that we’ve got a choice,” Mr. Fannon said. Mike Massie’s motion to recommend approval passed unanimously.

The planners also recommended approval for Scott McBride’s application for a special use permit to operate a carpentry shop in Sperryville.

Mr. McBride said he mostly did architectural millwork and only part of his business would be conducted on the property.

The planners voted to restrict Mr. McBride’s hours of operation to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and after noon on Sunday.
