'Guilty by Suspicion' shown
Sunday night's RAAC movie will be "Guilty by Suspicion," rated PG-13, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 in The Theatre at Washington, Va.
In Irwin Winkler's troubling story of the McCarthy era, the Hollywood witch hunts of the '50s, Robert DeNiro plays David Merrill, a golden boy director who returns from Paris to find an eerie chill has set in as home.
Winkler, who wrote, produced and directed this compelling film, keeps the focus on Merrill's personal life, capturing the relative conservative ambiance of the '50s and reminding viewers that censorship is a prevalent today as it was 40 years ago.
