AmissvUle craft show
The Second Annual Festival and Craft Show, sponsored by the Amjssville Volunteer Fire Company, will be held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 28 and noon-6 p.m. Sept. 29 at the fire hall and carnival grounds on U.S. 211.
A variety of crafts and crafters, some local, will be on hand, including leatherwork, ceramics, porcelain, dolls, chimes, and more.
The fire department will be selling burgers, hot dogs and fries.
An open house will take place at 1 p.m. Sept. 29.
Hi Theatre street dance
Dancers of all ages are invited to a street dance (square and contra dancing) in Washington on Gay Street in front of the Town Hall on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Children and Family Dance will take place from 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m. followed by the Adult Dance Under the Stars from 7:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
The caller will be Jim Morrison of Charlottesville and the music will be provided by the nationally acclaimed musical ensemble Trapezoid.
There will be extra entertainment in the afternoon and evening in the forms of songs by Trapezoid and storytelling by the Ki Theatre, a Washington, Va.-based theater company that tours nationally and internationally.
