Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, and at stake are several local and state offices and the open 7th District Congressional seat.
Polling places for many voters in Rappahannock have changed this year following the redistricting process for the county’s five magisterial districts.
Here’s where to vote:
• Hampton District: Washington Fire Hall.
• Jackson District: Amissville Fire Hall.
• Piedmont District: Sperryville Fire Hall.
• Stone wall-Hawthorn District: Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Scrabble.
• Wakefield District: Chester Gap Fire Hall and Flint Hill Fire Hall.
Voters in Wakefield who are not sure which precinct they vote in should consult their voter registration card.
According to Registrar Nancy Leake, some voter registration cards were returned due to incorrect addresses. Those who did not receive their cards may still vote, however. Call the Registrar at 675-3739 for more information.
Polls open on Tuesday at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
For Rappahannock voters, the ballot includes 7th District candidates Kay Slaughter, D; George Allen, R; and John Torrice Jr., I. A second Independent candidate, Fredericksburg computer sales businessman Donald L. MacLeay Jr., is waging a write-in campaign but will not appear on the ballot.
