Isaac Parrish
Isaac “Ike” Lowe Parrish, 78, of Thornton River Farm, Viewtown, died Friday, Oct. 25 at his residence.
Mr. Parrish was bom March 17, 1913 in Charlotte, N.C., the son of the late Edward John and Georgia Lowe Parrish.
Mr. Parrish attended Woodberry Forest School, Episcopal High School and the University of Virginia, he was a past president of Rappahannock County Farm Bureau and a former treasurer of the Rappahannock Republican Party.
He served in the U.S. Navy from December, 1941 to December 1945, he was a farmer in Rappahannock since 1948, a member of Trinity Episcopal Church having served on Vestry and a member of Rappahannock Labor Day Invitational Handicap Mixed Doubles Whistle Cup Tennis Tournament since 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Chandler Parrish; one son, Isaac Christopher Parrish of Viewtown; three daughters, Merrill P. Strange of Viewtown, Laura P. Heyward of Richmond and Carol P. Parrish of Vineyard Haven, Mass.; one sister Edna P. Ashcraft of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Edward John Parrish Jr. of Rixeyville and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 28 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington with Rev. Jennings Hobson officiating. Burial
