Culminating months of planning and fundraising, the project to build a new, multi-tiered playground structure will come to fruition this weekend at the Rappahannock Park in Washington.
The Rappahannock Mothering Cooperative, the Rappahannock Women’s Club and the Rappahannock Recreation Authority are all contributing to the effort.
The new equipment includes slides, swings, fire poles, a talking tube, ropes, monkey bars and other fun equipment, and is modeled like a medieval castle. Future expansion plans, which organizers hope to complete in the spring, include a pirate ship and a space ship bubble.
