Mr. Kline also taught them how to identify trees by the type of leaf — simple, compound and compoundcomplex and also by the bark.
The most interesting fact that Mr. Kline told the young gardeners was that the largest sassafras tree in Virginia is located in Rappahannock County in Gid Brown Hollow.
