Absentee ballot deadline
Those wishing to cast absentee ballots in the Nov. 5 General Election must do so by Saturday, Nov. 2. Registrar of Voters Nancy Leake will hold special office hours Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. She will also be open for absentee voters during regular business hours. Lecture postponed to second Friday
Although the name of the lecture series is "Rappahannock Perspectives, First Friday Series," this month the talk has been postponed until the second Friday.
"Free Spirits," a discussion of the role of Sixties flower children in Rappahannock culture and life, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.
December's program will address the challenge of living and working in Rappahannock.
SHARE sign-up dates announced
Nan McEvoy, chairman for the SHARE host site at Washington Baptist Church, announced the sign-up dates for November.
Each month the SHARE food basket contains $30-$35 worth of groceries, for which participants pay $13 and contribute two hours of service to their community.
