Business Council to meet
The SperryviUe Business Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3 at The Church Mouse. Plans for the upcoming Blue Ridge Christmas will be discussed. All members are urged to attend. If you cannot attend and have an idea or event at your business contact Barbara Burke at 987-8058, evenings.
Rainforest group to meet
The Rappahannock Rainforest Action Group will meet on Thursdays through the month of November. The meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Windflower Gallery. The meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in protecting the rainforests are urged to attend. For more information call 987-9438 or 987-9535.
Renovations underway
Playground renovations have begun at the Rappahannock Park under the auspices of the Park and Recreation Authority, the Rappahannock Woman’s Club and the Mothering Cooperative. The Mothering Cooperative has scheduled work days for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2 and 3 to construct Phase I of the playground addition. Beginning at 9 a.m. work crews will be assigned to various tasks throughout the day. A pot-luck picnic will be provided for all who attend. Those interested in helping by providing food, tools or muscle can call Bob Lucking at 937-3110 or Jean Faulk-Morgan at 675-1281.
Halloween party
The Amis8ville Volunteer FireDepartment will hold a Halloween party at the fire hall from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 31. There will be refreshments, games for the children and a costume judging contest.
CPR class
A CPR class will be held at the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department from 7 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 and from 9 a.m. until on Sunday, Nov. 24. The class is open to the public and space is limited. Cost is $10 per person. For more information call 937-3076 after 6 p.m.
Historian to speak
Mr. Claude Guinn, historian, and raconteur will speak to the regular quarterly meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Rappahannock Library. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
Association meeting
All persons interested in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Washington are invited to attend the Association’s business meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the First Baptist Church dining room.
