representative Robert Anderson said he also hears concerns about the reassessment, but finds that most people are less upset once they understand that the tax rate will come down.
“We need to continue improving the schools but keep taxes as low as possible,” he said. He added that he hoped to see the Enhanced 911 system implimented in the next four years. He said the county should buy land for a middle school, but he added that he did not think it is necessary yet to plan to build it.
Piedmont District representative Charles K. “Pete” Estes said, “My constituents main concern is taxes and the reassessment.”
He added that the major challenge in the next four years would be “holding down the cost of local government and trying to keep the tax rate on a low level.” He added that handling trash will probably continue to be an important local issue.
