Amissville Full Gospel. Beginning this Sunday, the broadcast time will be changed from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and will be a full hour. It is aired on WKCW, 1420 AM Warrenton.

It’s not too early to be thinking about the gypsy moths. In the Oct. 17 issue of the Fauquier Democrat, an anti-moth recipe was given: Make a 50-50 mix of cooking oil and rubbing alcohol to use as a homemade egg mass spray. Shake the solution well and saturate the egg masses. Apply from early fall to early spring before the eggs hatch. (If spraying needed by commercial applicators in spring remember to do last 2 weeks April and first 2 weeks in May.)

I understand many people in our area were not billed by Agrotors of Gettysburg, Pa. when they sprayed here May 10-12. Since we may want to use their service again, you are encouraged to let me know if you were not billed and we’ll get a list to them. (Apparently, one of the lists we gave them was misplaced by the pilot or at the home office.) They have asked our assistance in collecting the bills since we helped coordinate the effort.

Monday probably saw the end of 70 degree temperatures in the area as we return to more seasonable temperatures. We have certainly enjoyed the fall colors; however, we desperately need rain.

Since we’re thinking about Christmas shopping already, you may wish to give a loved one something to promote better health.
