Rappahannock area walkers will be joining 15,000 Virginians who will be participating in the American Heart Association’s Turkeywalk 1991 on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Our local walk follows a beautiful six-mile course along Route 612 at Old Hollow near Sperryville. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., the walk begins at 10 a.m.

According to Sandra Jenkins and Beverly Atkins, who share management for this year’s Turkeywalk event, “the purpose is to support the fight against heart disease through raising funds to advance heart research and to improve community education programs.
