A victory for Sen. Charles S. Robb in Tuesday’s Democratic primary makes him the party’s candidate in a four-way race for the U.S. Senate.
Robb ran somewhat better statewide than he did in Rappahannock County. Across the state, with11 60 percent of precincts reporting, unofficial returns showed that Robb had won 61 percent of the vote.
Robb’s law school classmate', state Sen. Virgil H. Goode, won 31 percent of the vote, and Richmond attorney Sylvia L. Clute received 7 percent. Lyndon LaRouche candidate Nancy Spannaus earned 2 percent.
