Ms. Reid said that RAWL staff members take animals to the Petstuff in Manassas on Fridays and Saturdays for adoption. The program was started last September, and 140 have been adopted since then.
Treasurer Ron Werronen told the audience, “It takes every one of you working in harmony to make it happen. Since 1991 we are seeing double the amount of animals coming through the shelter.” The projected number for 1994 is 400. He said that the annual budget is up to $37,000, up from $5,000 in the first year.
