I left home without Jesus when I was 18. I went to Kent State Universiety the year after four stuents were shot there by Ohio National Guardsmen. But I thought I would live forever. I recall the day the Bible thumpers at Kent State tried to grab me in the hall. Wanted to show me how to get to heaven. Wondered if I knew if I was going there. Hey, I didn’t even know if I was going to my next class! They showed me' a giant flip chart with Jesus—a big X—right smack dab in the middle. Heaven was in the cloud above the X and a sinner—persumably me—was down below. Like
