vote and carried the Washington precinct. Sylvia Clute had 5.7 percent of the vote and Nancy Spannaus got three votes, less than one percent.

Of the county’s 3,534 registered voters, only 385 voted, about 10.9 percent. This was apparently slightly better than the state as a whole. Less than 10 percent voted statewide. In Washington fewer people voted in this primary in which all voters in Hampton District were eligible than voted in elections for Town Council a little more than a month ago.
