His legal named may be Aubrey but as far back as he could recollect he was nicknamed “Buster.” Little Buster was bom in Novemeber, 1903, in Gid Brown Hollow. In the great American tradition he was bom in a log cabin made of sturdiest Chestnut. His earliest memory was being dragged by Oxen on a “slide” in the snow by his dad, Hubert. Buster Keyser grew up in a Rappahannock County where rivalries between hollows may have been enought to spark decades-long family “feuds.”
