Children of all ages are invited to participate in this free program. Participants will receive a reading log to record the titles of books they read and the adventures they have had in reading.
Those who attend the weekly programs will have chance to win prizes donated by local merchants and community groups. At the end of the program, children will receive a reading certificate.
The first program, “Cartooning for Kids,” will be presented by Jim Sizemore at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23. This is a fun and instructive hour introduction to cartooning. Mr. Sizemore will instruct the participants in creating cartoon animals using simple shapes, how cartoon mouths and eyes create expression, and much more. Children of all ages are invites to come and draw along with Mr. Sizemore during this free program.
