with a grace and charm which enlightened the stage and hightened the spirit of the graduates. She did not, however, have a chance to enlighten the podium; Ms. Theodore was not a scheduled speaker for the ceremony.
I had the fortunate opportunity of meeting with the Rabbi at the conclusion of the evening, and I was saddened to know that such insight, such elegance, and such vision was silenced at the ceremony. Her glowing charm, her graceful and quiet entrance and exit, and her silent victory of spirit moved me more than any words spoken during the ceremony.
I looked with curiosity and awe at Ms. Theodore throughout the ceremony, and she projected an aura which was undeniably spiritual, and undeniably powerful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rabbi for attending our service and to ask next year’s class to give her a voice, for her message transcended silence this year, and although silence has its virtues, just imagine the power of her words.
