Jesus cares about you—about the things that you think, about the things that you hide in your heart.
I remember the hidden feelings I had the first year I taught in a classrom filled with seniors.
“But Lord, the boys are wearing earrings!” I thought.
“Love them,” Jesus whispered.
“But Lord, the girls have purple hair!” I remonstrated.
“Love them,” Jesus whispered.
“But Lord, look at those Mohawks! I mean we had long hair, but...” j
“Love them!” Jesus commanded, and He enabled me to see past such superficial things. For when the Lord looks at us he sees beyond physical things—he sees the spiritual things that are harbored in human hearts.
