John Alexander was awarded the 1000 mile Silver Buckle on Sunday at the 20th Annual Ride of the Old Dominion 100 mile Ride.
He is also one of the founding members of the organization. There have only been five people who have gotten the 100 miles and 80 miles, only five made the Silver Buckles.
Mrs. Linnie Cummings with her friends, Mrs. Kate Gay recently visited relatives in Georgia. On Wednesday Mrs. Cummings was joined by Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Klise at the home of Mrs. Cummings’ son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Cummings at Suffolk.
They all returned home here on Saturday after a visit in Portsmouth and Suffolk.
The Flint Hill United Methodist Church will have worship service at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 19.
