Rappahannock runners came over the line in quick succession: 8th was Matt Wolfe, 9th was Mark Williams, and Jeff Atkins was 10th. Chad Heddleston finished 14th and Tommy Baldwin was 15th. A Manassas Park runner placed first, but Brentsville runners dominated the overall race, finishing with a score of 27 to Rappahannock's 38 for second place. Manassas Park had 70 points and George Mason had 90.
Rappahannock's Colin Nichols won the developmental (junior varsity) race with an outstanding time of 20:03. That time would, have earned him 13th place if he had run in the varsity boys' race. Finishing second was Jason Baldwin with a time of 20:20; Alex Baumgardner was third with a time of 21:05.
Both Rappahannock teams were to compete in the regional meet in Charlottesville Wednesday, hoping to place high enough to enter the state finals at Great Meadow next Saturday, Nov. 9.
