Which Dole?
To the Editor:
Last week Walter Longyear had a lot to say about Bill Clinton. I went through his letter and found that if you substitute "Bob Dole" for "Bill Clinton", and swap "Republican" for "Democrat" (and vice versa) you can say exactly the same things about Bob Dole.
Here are some excerpts from Walter's letter. I have changed nothing except the names and parties.
"Will you get Bob Dole the New Republican...the Old Republican...or the new, moderate Democrat Bob Dole?"
"Maybe you want Bob Dole the tax cutter, or Bob Dole the tax increaser. You can have either one or both."
"...No matter which Bob Dole you like, there's a Bob Dole just right for you. As long as you like inconsistency as a quality in your president."
