walked into the building the other day and someone, she doesn't know who, had installed a ceiling fan for the site. A stove was donated and that is ready to use also. She said she hopes that once they are in the new site, more people will be able to attend because of the handicapped access.
According to Brian Duncan, executive director of the Community Services Board, there were several problems with the new center revealed in a walk- through he took shortly after the work day.
He said work had to be done on the heating system. He said it was also necessary to install a smoke detector, grab bars for the bathrooms, and a meter for power so the seniors could get a separate bill for electricity.
According to Ellen Manson, a member of the Community Services Board and its chairman, most of the work has been completed. She said that she had not known that the seniors would be unable to use the site at the First Baptist Church this week.
Last weekend Michael Soule met with representatives of the company that supplies propane for the furnace and work was done to cut off the duct work so that the heat of the furnace will go only into the room the seniors are using.
